I'll skim over the last few weeks...

Turned 21, finally got DSL, the computers are finally networked together, and I can play online games for the first time since 56K was all you needed.

Offically done with the theatre, got my last paycheck last tuesday.

Started my new job at Mercury Insurance today, the one off of Imperial and Berry. Pretty cool. I'm a Quality Assurance IT Intern. Work Monday and Wednesday 8AM - 3PM and Friday 11AM - 6PM for fucking $12.00!!! Yay! ^_^ Its awesome how I can work less hours and still make more than I did at the theatre. Don't know when my first check comes though... might not be until the end of the month... or worse case scenario, 15th of next month... *shudder*

I felt very lost today when my supervisor was trying to tell me what the NextGen team (my team) is working on. I guess they're transferring the databases over from a 25 year old computer system into a new java based one, for flexibility and other issues. If it weren't for the intro to java class I took 2 quarters ago, I'd have no fucking idea what they were talking about. Instead, I understood maybe 30% of what they were talking about. Hopefully I'll learn a lot here, because I'm sure it will definately help with my major, or vice versa.
